Can I use my insurance coverage for your services?
To determine if your insurance plan covers my services make sure to contact your insurance provider and ask them the following questions:
Do my insurance benefits include psychotherapy services?
What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
Will I be required to pay a copay?
Is there a limit to the number of sessions per year my plan covers?
What is my deductible?
How long does counselling take? How many sessions should I expect to attend and how often do I need to come?
Every person is unique and every person responds differently to counselling. Generally speaking, most people will begin to notice progress and/or symptom relief in approximately 6-12 sessions. Individual sessions are generally about 60 minutes in length.
Ultimately it is up to you as to how long or how frequently you come for counselling sessions. Most people come weekly or every two weeks depending upon their situation.
Once they feel that their symptoms are better managed or they begin noticing improvements, they may decide to “check in” on a monthly basis for a period of time until they feel comfortable and, of course, they know that they are free to schedule a “check in” session at any time in the future if they feel necessary.
How much does therapy cost? Is there a sliding scale rate?
OHIP does not cover psychotherapy services. Your employer or extended health plan may provide partial reimbursement. The therapy cost at Inward Counselling is $175 per 60 minute sessions.
Psychotherapy fees are tax deductible.
